Hi, my name is Kenton Hamaluik. I make games as a hobby, you can see some of them here. I have a blog at Hamaluik.com that has tutorials, code samples, etc.

Thankfully, I was able to keep the games relatively simple and managed to knock out 4 complete minigames in the weekend! As a result, I did pretty well in the scoring, receiving a #53 in fun overall!
I've been meaning to start doing post-mortems for my games, so here's a short one that I put up rather late.
Before I started, I swore I wouldn't let the programming get out of hand and that I would spend more time on art and level design this time. That turned out to be a total pipe dream! I spent too long on programming (as usual) and nowhere near enough time on level design and art. I did manage to make a neat little introductory cinematic however, so that was nice.
That said, I'm actually really proud of the mechanic and the "feel" of the game. I might end up fleshing this out a bit more when I have some time. Though I would definitely remove or heavily modify the timer mechanic, as most people did not like that one bit (which, fair enough.)
Office Simulator 2014 is a game I created for Ludum Dare 29 where the theme was Beneath the Surface. I decided Friday that I wasn't going to participate this time as I have work to do. Saturday morning I changed my mind. Here's the result! It was created with:
It's sadly completely unpolished and not thoroughly tested, and the ending was too rushed. Time got away from me again! :( But, hopefully next time I'll actually learn to manage my time!
Wedcade is a collection of games which I created for my wedding in October 2013. There are 5 types of games in total:
The Wedcade turned out to be a big hit, despite some devasting crashing bugs caused by small children with hyper-active button mashing abilities.
Shrunken Adventures is a game I created for Ludum Dare 26 where the theme was Minimalism. This was my first Ludum Dare competition, and I think I did pretty decently for that! I sadly ran out of time to add music, but at least I had some basic sound effects. Shrunken Adventures was created with:
The game is played on a 6×6 board divided into four 3×3 sub-boards (or quadrants). Taking turns, the two players place a marble of their color (either black or white) onto an unoccupied space on the board, and then rotate one of the sub-boards by 90 degrees either clockwise or counter-clockwise. A player wins by getting five of their marbles in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row (either before or after the sub-board rotation in their move). If all 36 spaces on the board are occupied without a row of five being formed then the game is a draw.
Ruby Crush is an open source clone of Bejeweled (or any other match-3 game) created for the Uzebox in March of 2010. It is currently single player, with two modes: Classic and Timed. I am incredibly proud of this game as although it's nothing new or groundbreaking, it was my first real game. Not only that, but I managed to implement quite a lot using some very basic hardware/firmware!
